The Answer (and an Update)

So, Michelle correctly guessed the answer to the riddle--Seth was using the oven drawer handle for his chew toy. I have waited so long to post, since I was hoping to include a picture of Seth's tooth. Whenever Daniel's around to help, I don't think of it, and my solo tries did NOT work out.

Anyhow, here is the eight and a half-month update on our favorite Wilding baby. Having not seen the doctor, since he will at nine months, we don't know how tall he is or how much he weighs. However, he does seem thinner, either due to his growing, or due to his speed-crawling.

He still sleeps very well, helped partially by the addition to his crib from Grandma Wilding, pictured below:

He loves to feel the sheet and bumper, and often will fall asleep rather smushed up against the bumper. Cute kid!

Seth has several tricks up his sleeve. He gives kisses (enclosing your nose in his open mouth), and loves turning out the lights. His one word is Mama. (Daddy's working on him. ;) Daniel claims that he "cruised" yesterday; he set Seth against the couch in a standing position, and the sweet boy took four steps in a direction, while still holding onto the couch. Of course, it was while Mama was gone to the General Relief Society Broadcast, so I didn't get to see it.

Seth climbs over everything and has a very determined attitude. He loves bananas (who doesn't?) and animal crackers and puffs and whatever we are eating. His dad taught him how to put his finger up to his mouth, moving it up and down while making sounds at various pitches. He will grab hold of my finger and make Mama make the sound, then make Mama make Seth make the sound. Make sense?

Seth will also pull my hands together to clap, but still hasn't clapped on his own. He loves pulling off his socks and sticking his fingers in my mouth. After his nap, we "put away" his sucker, and he now understands to take it out of his mouth. We're still working on the setting-it-down-on-the-table part.

We love our Bubba and all of his dinosaur noises. Tune in soon to see what happens when I check a blog or two while his breakfast is set up on the table...
